Star Wars X-Wing

In October I ran a Star Wars X-Wing game at the club.

The scenario saw a secret Imperial installation in an asteroid field being attacked by Rebel forces.  In addition to various turbo laser turret emplacements on the outer asteroids along with the main installation the Imperials had various fighters available for defence.

Here are some photos from the game:

Imperial Entanglements

A few meetings ago I ran another narrative based Star Wars X-Wing game at the club.  Here are the faction briefings, OOBs and some photos of the game.

Scum & Villainy Briefing

You have just concluded a transaction between representatives of the Black Sun syndicate and the Hutt clan. To avoid the notice of the Empire (since the transaction is anything but legal you had hidden yourselves in the Anaxes asteroid belt in the Azure sector of the Outer Rim. Unfortunately, Imperial ships have just appeared outside the belt and challenged you. You need to evade the Imperial grasp and return to your masters with the spoils of your transaction (in the larger two ships) or have to pay the price! How the Imperials found you is something of a mystery - have you been betrayed by the other faction?

Ships / Points

200 points available overall

Base ships (and minimum points):

C-ROC Cruiser (35 points)
Z-95 Headhunters x2 (26 points)

Points available for upgrades: 39

YV-666 (29 points)
M3-A “Scyk” Interceptor (14 points)
Y-Wing (18 points)

Points available for upgrades: 39

Victory Conditions

Evade the Imperial patrol ships, exit the asteroid belt and make the jump to lightspeed (Imperial side of table) Scale of Victory/Loss will depend on points values surviving (plus points value of Imperials destroyed)

Imperial Briefing

Criminal activity in the Outer Rim has been on the increase and you have been ordered to aggressively patrol the various systems. A routine scan of the Azure sector detected ships entering the Anaxes asteroid belt and so you have been despatched to investigate. As you approach you detect several vessels all of which have masked or obviously forged transponder codes. You must prevent these criminals from escaping either by capturing or destroying them. The officer who is most successful will surely be recognised up the chain of command and might even come to the notice of the Grand Moff himself!

Ships / Points

200 points available overall

Base ships (and minimum points):

Gozanti Cruiser (40 points) must be fitted with Docking Clamps (0 points)
Tie Fighters x2 (24 points) must start docked with the cruiser

Points available for upgrades: 36

VT-49 Decimator (40 points)
Alpha Class Star Wing (18 points)

Points available for upgrades: 42

Victory Conditions

Prevent the criminal ships from making the jump to lightspeed (Imperial side of table) Scale of Victory/Loss will depend on points values surviving (plus points value of opposition ships destroyed)

X-Wing: Rebel Rescue / Retrieval / Reward

We played another Star Wars: X-Wing game recently using all three factions - their respective briefings are below:

Rebel Rescue
The plans for a co-ordinated Rebel Alliance assault on Lothal were being taken by courier. To bypass the Imperial blockade of Dantooine you hired Jalon Rixx, a renowned smuggler, to transport the courier to Atollon. Unknown to you at the time the Hutts had put a bounty on Rixx and his ship was attacked by Bounty Hunters en route. Rixx ran for his home base in the asteroid belt around Ord Mantell but the damage to his ship was too severe and it broke up in the belt only seconds after the escape pods were jettisoned. You must rescue your courier and safely retrieve the plans before they fall into Imperial hands...

Rebel Retrieval
ISB agents suspect the Rebel Alliance are using couriers to transport plans between cells. A suspect was identified on Dantooine and a blockade initiated; however, Jalon Rixx, a renowned smuggler, bypassed the blockade. Reports have reached you that the Hutts have put a bounty on Rixx and that his home base is in the asteroid belt around Ord Mantell. Accordingly you have sent a small force to intercept him. But as they jumped into the system they saw Rixx’s ship under attack and it breaking up in the belt only seconds after the escape pods were jettisoned. You must locate the courier and any Rebel plans before the Rebels can rescue them...

Rebel Reward
The Hutts put a bounty on Jalon Rixx, a renowned smuggler, and you managed to track his ship after he slipped past the Imperial blockade at Dantooine. You are not alone in trying to win the bounty and a botched attacked by some Bounty Hunters saw Rixx running for his home base in the asteroid belt around Ord Mantell. But the attack badly damaged his ship and it broke up in the belt only seconds after the escape pods were jettisoned. You have noticed that some Imperial ships have just jumped into the system so there must be more to be gained than just the bounty on Rixx. Clearly the first one to seize the escape pods will be in a wonderful bargaining position...

The rebels and imperials nearly got distracted by each other and allowed the scum a head start on the escape pods. But in the end the rebels secured Jalon Rixx and the scum got the courier - so a trade was agreed.  It was a tense negotiation but they avoided opening fire on each other and an exchange was agreed.

X-Wing: Blockade Run

I decided it was high time we played a really epic game of X-Wing with some of the big ships in my collection.  I created a scenario loosely based on an episode from Star Wars Rebels, with the Imperials blockading a planet and the Rebels trying to break the blockade and deliver some much needed supplies.  Here are a few photos from the game:
