Hello and welcome!

Hello and welcome to The Wargame Shed blog. I know what you’re thinking: oh no not another self important bloke who wants to share his dull and unimportant thoughts with everyone! I suppose there is a bit of that but in the end you don’t have to read the deranged ravings of every idiot do you? So why read mine? I’m afraid that’s something you’ll have to decide for yourself. I’m just proposing to share my thoughts and opinions on all things wargaming and any other stuff I think you might be interested in. I intend to post my views of some of the rules, figures, terrain, books, films, board games and the like that I own and have played. Hopefully some of it may be useful or interesting but if not please feel free to lambaste me for wasting your time with my pointless drivelling.

To evaluate anyone’s opinion you need to know something about them so I’d better tell you something about myself. I’ve been gaming for over 20 years in a variety of scales and periods, I prefer period specific rules and my favourite period changes on a regular basis. I really dislike people who try to win games using the rules rather than the proper tactics and try to do some research for any period in order to get into the game.

I can’t promise that I’ll put entries onto the blog every day and I have a habit of starting new projects and not finishing them – so who knows. But I have a lot of stuff to review and I’ll try to get some of it on the blog over the next couple of weeks. By which time you can make up your own mind whether I’m worth wasting your time on!
